1 - In honour of 35 seasons as one of Canada’s finest amateur choral ensembles, the St. Lawrence Choir, under the direction of Maestro Iwan Edwards, with special guest, Répercussion, perform a lively celebration of works for choir and percussion at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. 2 - 3 - With multicultural and multilingual flare, the 85 mixed-voice St. Lawrence Choir is set to deliver memorable contemporary performances. Répercussion will perform works by Canadian composer Murray Schafer and world music compositions from Répercussion’s “New Kong” CD, and Manhattan Transfer. 4 - 5 - Répercussion, a globe-trotting percussion quartet comprised of Aldo Mazza, Robert Lépine, Luc Langlois and Chantal Simard, is well-known internationally for its virtuoso interpretations and highly visual presentations. Pierre Dubé, an original member who left the group to perform with Cirque du Soleil’s “Mystère” show in Las Vegas, will join the troupe at the anniversary concert. 6 - 7 - The St. Lawrence Choir is a bilingual, not-for-profit organization, founded in 1972 by its conductor, Maestro Iwan Edwards. The Choir maintains a strong commitment to promoting Canadian repertoire. For the past 20 years, Maestro Edwards has also been the Chorus Master of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra choir.
