Roger McGuinn began his musical journey in the folk music world, performing and writing songs for notable folk artists such as The Limeliters and The Chad Mitchell Trio. In 1964, McGuinn teamed with Gene Clark and David Crosby to form The Jet Set. But after a screening of The Beatles' first feature film "A Hard Day's Night", McGuinn caught the vision of a new sound, that of folk music with a rock 'n' roll beat. Shortly after that, The Byrds took flight.
